A young driver has died following a serious collision with a heavy truck Monday afternoon in Sainte-Martine, Quebec, in the Montérégie region.
The crash happened at approximately 4 p.m. on Route 138, also known as Saint-Jean-Baptiste Boulevard, according to Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Marc Tessier.
Initial reports indicate that the young driver’s vehicle veered out of its lane while navigating a curve before colliding with a heavy truck traveling in the opposite direction.
Following the impact, the truck continued off the roadway and crashed into a nearby house.
